Ahoy on the Red Arrow !!
The wooden nickle idea turned out better than I expected!!
A couple weeks back I cruised by the dock of the tour boat Riverquest. In season they go by us several times a day & always wave & mention the Hot Dog boat!!
I motored up a talked with Captain Mark & Mate Mindy for a bit. I gave the captain a coin & he was very impressed with the throw back idea.
He saw me in the hot dog costume, but couldn’t get a good pic.
I sent him a great shot I had & they asked if they could post it on their website. How cool is that!! Free advertising. Ya never know what a little PR will go.
Yer Weiners on Water coin be on the way matey !! Check ye traps fe a fresh catch !! Har har harrrrr !!
Time to baton down the hatches in these parts… She’s a gonna blow !!
Pulled the tender out last week & getting things secure for the season. So I’ll be here on dry dock for awhile, waitin for the news.

Very cool Jim! These really turned out nice.
Unlike a business card, these will be held on to for sure. Heck, they’re souvenirs!
Thanks for the oak doubloon, mate. I’ll treasure it (get it? treasure?! ha!)

I had a similar idea using an anchor, they said it would never float…
Ha!
Arrggggg!! Some ideas just don’t hold water mate !!!
I floated the balloon idea once
Love the coin idea. Good work. Thanks for sharing.
Great idea and promotion – I did some quick research and found this company with the best prices – wooden-nickel.com/about/offers
I designed mine a put in an order today! No matter what my Dad used to Say “Don’t take no wooden nickels….”
That’s where I got them !! I think you will be happy with the quality of the coin.
Have fun with them !!
Neat idea! Do you use them like a coupon or something? or are they just souvenirs? I’m thinking along the lines of punch cards or something for next season. Anyone ever tried it?
Robin I just gave them away as a souvenir coin. It was a lot of fun.
I like the Wooden Nickel idea. Where is a good place to purchase the wooden nickels…. I have seen some that were really high for the amount you got.
Thanks

I just gave them out to the customers & kids as a token ( har har harrrr ) of their visit.
The kids loved it & it helps them remember where to get a great dog ..
I got them @ http://www.wooden-nickel.com.
They ended up costing 80 cents each. You can upload your image & customize them the way you want. Quality & service were very good.
The cost isn’t to bad & the smiles from the kids was well worth it.
I had a great time with them & everyone loved them !!

Yes, my business card is a punch card, that I have been using for the past 3 years. It went over really well. I had many customers redeem there cards .I’n my experience it was worth it. It’s was a nice feeling to know that people care enough about your food to keep comming back.
Cool Janet!
