HDCN reader Dave Ringstaff just let me know about a NSF certified cart he has for sale.
I don’t post many used hot dog carts directly on the newsletter, but at $3750 this is one incredible deal that I really thought you should know about.
It’s already on Craig’s list in PA so I wouldn’t let any grass grow under your feet. If you have any interest at all – email Dave at dave.ringstaff@gmail.com
And tell him Steve sent you!
Details:
For sale is a Like-New 2009 Goliath Hotdog Cart. The cart has been used 7 times. The cart is towable and light, at 400lbs I was able to tow it easily with my Saturn Coupe to and from shows. The cart has 4 sinks (3 for utensil sanitation and 1 for hand washing) also, there is a refrigerator/freezer that is ATTACHED to the cart. The fridge is propane or electric powered and keep temp even during the summer days. There is enough steam table space for 5 1/3 pans as you can see in the photos. There is a 5 gallon potable water tank and running water from a water pump, There is a gray water tank of 10 gallons for your waste water.
This cart passes Bucks County Health Department regulations. For those who have not had to deal with the HD in Bucks, they have one of the most demanding health codes in PA.
Also included in the sale:
Both propane tanks which are full
Red white and blue umbrella (350+ retail price)
All metal pans and containers (more than enough to do shows with)
Tongs and utensils and ladles
Hot dog cart business DVDs and book
Extra piping for the water pump
Anything misc. I have for the cart is yours
Entire cart is NSF certified
Not for nothing Steve,or maybe just some last minute jitters…But why are so many people selling there carts? are we getting overpopulated with all the exposure on news net ect?
not trying to be a bummer but had to ask.
Hey Tony,
No worries… there are a lot of used automobiles out there too, but it’s not because no one is driving anymore.
There actually are not very many GOOD used hot dog carts. That’s why I posted this one.
The ones you see on eBay or Craigs are usually pretty beat or they were low quality “starter” carts that have been bought and sold many times over. If you watch the ads over a long period of time you keep seeing the sames ones again and again. The owners wise up after one season and buy or build a better hot dog cart to use in their businesses.
Also, this business looks easy and the lure of easy money tends to attract a certain personality type.
They buy a junky used cart on Craigs List, hit the streets without a clue, and after a couple of days of dog slingin’ find out that there’s more to it than they thought.
Like having to show up every day. Sober. Oh – and this part really sucks – you have to wear a shirt.
Those things are deal breakers for a lot of people and so the cart goes back on Craigs for beer money.
Lesson: If you treat this like a real business you’ll be head and shoulders above 90 percent of the vendors out there.
And that’s when it gets easy.
-Steve
Would love to get a setup like this in Wisconsin, if you could let me know of anything similar for sale in Wisconsin, I would appreciate it. Thanks Scott
I looked in the used carts, and this same cart had a sold sign on it. is it sold ? thank you
CAN I PAY YOU MONTHLY
Love the frig/freezer, want one on my cart but there will be one on the next cart.
I was wrong about the cart being sold sorry. starting the day out wrong
Scott, Will do.
-P.S. Who’s going to win the Super Bowl? 😉
Duggs – it’s a nice upgrade.
Ron – I start (and sometimes end) every day like that 😉
SuperBowl winner will wear yellow.
On a different subject It was only 26 degrees down here sw arkansas still had a decent day slinging dogs. Nothing better than a Great Hot Dawg on a cold day.

Uh – Mr. Steve – THE PACKERS??? The Wisconsin Wieners Girls!
Nice cart. I looked at one of those when i was first getting ready to buy a cart. Steve is right. If you find a good used cart, and you need a good used cart, jump on it. But be serious about what you are doing. We only get to play when the work is done.
To answer the question about why so many used carts… I’ve only been out selling a few months and I have gotten a lot of inquiries about people wanting to get their own cart and set up. In fact, when I bought my cart (used) and was towing it home, I had someone pull up next to me at a stop light and offer to buy my cart before I even got it home.
I think a lot of people purchase equipment before checking out all the rules and regs involved, and then get frustrated and quit… or they operate illegally. I’ve met quite a few weekend only operators who do just that. I’ve come across a few carts for sale by people who either got into bigger equipment, or some who had to get out for health reasons.
My cart was purchased from a woman who lost her teaching job when a private school she taught at went out of business. She took the summer and got into the business. She made good money selling dogs but missed teaching, so she sold the equipment to me.
Like Steve said, there’s a lot of used cars out there too, and houses, and lots of other things for sale. Carts are no exception.
Hey! I believe that the Steelers are going to win!!!!!
Send me a picture that shows the nsf seal. I can not see it. Thanks RM
