Want a sneak peak behind the scenes of this website? Here you go…
Contrary to what some people think, running HotDogProfits.com is not all fun and games. It’s a lot of work.
Try writing 752 newsletter articles about hot dogs, lol. Yes, that is how many I have written so far. I don’t farm this work out. I write every word myself, just for you.
Phew!
I help everyone who contacts me, whether they have purchased anything from me or not. And like a family, you can’t make everyone happy all the time. Most of the criticism I receive is constructive and polite, and I thank you for that. I use it to make this a better resource for slingers.
The best part of my job is that I get a lot of email from happy slingers and it feels good to know I helped them in one way or another.
I got a short email from Carrie this morning that just made my whole day…
Had fun at the Oak CreekFest this summer, In Colorado, third year with my wagon

I’m very thankful for having found your blog back in 2009, back when I was contemplating what I was going to do with my life. Thank you for all you have done to help me on my pursuit of the American dream! God bless and thanks again. Your brother from another mother, Esteban
Thanks for the kind words hermano. I clearly remember that first phone call when you introduced yourself and said you wanted to build a hot dog cart. I could tell from your enthusiasm that you were going to be successful. You are an inspiration to everyone who has come after you, that’s for sure!
Carrie, I love how you built a shelf into the hole next to the fresh water tank, looks nice!

Eight years? Wow, time flies. Thanks for your help with the Premium training. Your on-the-job videos are a big help to our members my friend!
Hi Steve,
I am grateful for what you have accomplished, and the way you help other people.
While our SAVED I.N.C Ministries Thrift and Consignment Store started to fail, I thought about a concession trailer. However, we couldn’t afford one. But while I was searching the internet, I came across you. A little while later, my wife obtained a 24 In Home Care job. It gave me the time and extra money to build the cart and test the waters. After 14 months the sweet elder my wife was taking care of, passed away. I was still trying to establish the cart. But, without my wife’s income, I learned to became more aggressive promoting the cart. It can’t quite support the store and our home yet, but without it, we would of been dead in the water.
I am the only mobile street vendor in Muskegon, MI. I have had to jump through several hoops to get established. But with persistence, I am wearing the city and township down.
My wife just landed another part-time job. I see daylight at the end of the tunnel. We are going to build two more regular carts this winter, and a small Covered Wagon Cart, to get in out of the winter weather next year. In the mean-time, this year, I am vending in the rain, heavy winds and snow, using my umbrellas and canopy.
It’s funny. When I am running errands in town, and I come across someone who has been a customer, they say, “hey, I know you,… you’re the Hot Dog Man.” Yeah, I guess I am. 😉
Thanks Steve. Happy Giving Thanks Day!
Wonderful story David! Your persistence will pay off. Sometimes it takes a hardship to make us put the pedal to the metal. You can do it!!!!
