Hey Steve. You are still doing a super job keeping all of us excited and building our businesses. We will finally have our final appointment for an inspection and the small biz incubator. I am so looking forward to this!
Anyway, I was wondering if you have a great tip on a source for steam pans and lids..this is the last item and if I could get a great deal…heck…that would rock. 😀 Just wonderin’….thanks for your input!

Hey Marjorie,
Try to find a restaurant liquidator. They buy the assets of closed restaurants and resell them. They only want the big stuff like walk in freezers, giant Hobart mixers, furniture, etc but they usually have to take everything in a package deal. Therefore, they have a ton of used steam pans, utensils and small stuff that they just want to dump at cheap prices.
You can usually find a restaurant liquidator by looking in the yellow pages or on the internet. Head down there and do a little treasure hunting!
Good luck,
-Steve
I have bought a number of pans and other items off ebay with very good luck some are stores and some just people getting rid of stuff. shipping always seems to be the biggy. My idea is “sell em all” that way you go home mt
Yeah, shipping is the bad part. If you can find a liquidator near you, you’ll love it. I promise.
flea markets are great just have to look abit walk abit and have a hotdog and beer.
also craigslist
A hot dog and a beer? OK… if i have to. 😉

Wow, that’s going the extra mile. You win comment researcher dude of the year!
Steve, Marjorie & anyone else… If they are in your state or near by, Restaurant Depot has pretty good prices, but I actually got many of mine off Craigslist… That way you can gauge what you want to spend & probably go pick them up. CL isn’t just for sickos & freaks, but please use caution & a non personal email address.
Hey Gregg,
I love Craigslist. I buy a lot of stuff there and sell some as well. I think it’s pretty safe overall.
it’s in your local city or town’s news paper on the Sunday edition list all “auctions” in your area, state, fed and private
Awesome tip Mike!
Restaurant Liquidators are great. Don’t be afraid to walk through what looks like a bunch of dirty junk though…there are treasures. As Steve said, the little stuff is not thier goal so if you find something useful they generally sell it very cheap. Our first trip netted us about 50 brand new clear condiment sqeaze bottles for less than $5. Later we found brand new high end condiment trays that retail for over $50 for that majic $5. How about an Ice maker to ice down your coolers…that is one of their bigger items and they go fast, but what a time saver that is!
I go to the liquidator every once in a while, even if I’m not in need of anything specific. I like to just poke around and see what they brought in that week. It’s like a flea market for slingers. LOL!
Call me crazy, but steam pans are stainless steel and clean up well with bleach and dawn dish detergent thats why i shop at the scrap yard! let me tell ya, you cant beat those prices. Believe it or not people take brand new stuff there for scrap! I have even traded my finds with the used restaurant suppliers for what could’nt find at the scrap yard’s.When your buying by the pound your paying rock bottom for the stuff. Good hunting!
Wow, I never would have thought of that – great tip John!
I vote http://www.webstaurantstore.com 🙂 they have some hard to find equipment too!
i’m considering a bostonconcession trailer, but they don’t include a steamtable. what small steam table would be a good fit for a small trailer?
We teach you how to build your own for pennies on the dollar over at http://BuildAHotDogCart.com. I’m not aware of any commercial units that would work as well as ours.
Recently I have bought the Stainless Steel Steam table pan at very affordable price. You can also check this one at mentioned link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/292363667580
