Robin Delancy owns Lakeside Lunch in Connecticut.
She recently wrote to tell me how much she likes her Hot Dog Cash Tracker software…
Steve,
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
This is a great program! I’m doing quite well, by the way.
My location has proven to be as good as I’d hoped and better than expected for the slow season.
I think I’m going to like this.
Thanks again,
Robin
PS, here are a couple pics of me at the lake with my setup.

Robin, I’m glad you like your Hot Dog Cash Tracker software, and thanks for the awesome pictures.
I think they perfectly capture what we all dream of when we start thinking about getting into the hot dog biz… I love it!
I wish you continued fun and success. 🙂

congratulations Robin, keep up the good work. wish nothing but success in your new biz.
Great Job Robin,
2 quick reminders.
1.) always chock your tires.
2.) put the husband on the other side of the cart he is blocking you money making machine.
Good luck in the future.
Way to go Robin!
Robin you are doing great, keep up the great work, some sugestions if you dont mind, by an ez-up tent for to cover over the table, it will help to keep everything out of the hot sun, have your husband sit behind the table or the cart and not in front, never block the cart. only my advise
Tony
Connecticut is great hot dog country. It sounds like you are doing great so you must be serving a great dog. Congratulations!
Way to go Robin!!! I am glad you are enjoying the dog business. The weather looks great there. I wish you success and happiness with your new found love. Have an awesome summer slinging them dogs.

Look’en Gooooood! Keep that cart steaming.
Good going…… Great pics !! Still not a fan of sitting down on the job, thats why I travel with a regular bar stool that allows me some comfort while not portraying an less desirable body image. Soon to be in my 60’s I will offer my bar stool to customers only over the age of 70…lol.
I also have a small garbage can I provide and keep it out from the food area about 20 ft.
Something to share
Signage…. Whats your sign $$WORTH$$
Ask yourself what does your sign look like from 50 yards out, what does it look like 10 yards out, what does it look like 3 feet away.
Are your signs working for you? Making you more cash flow and profits? I love my new sign out about 50 yards from my stand generating curiousity, and at 10 yards another sign building on curiuosity and going straight to hunger. Then my menu board informing customers how and what to order. Love daily specials but we have the customer here right now and we have to let him/her know what our daily specials will be the rest of the week too…

Thanks for all the comments folks! I’ve actually heard of or seen some of you in my travels.
Chocking the wheels is easy, moving my husband is not…I don’t have one. That’s my brother in the picture. He moves with the shade of the umbrella.
I’m slightly limited on signage due to town regulations here, but yes, the signs are working. And the pink hat with that red and yellow umbrella are not at all missed. I’m at the town beach parked right under a 4 way stop sign. The lake is very popular, visited by everyone from everywhere and since the concession at the state park is not operating anymore, I’m the only place on the lake where people can come to lunch in a wet bathing suit and bare feet. As they just refurbished the beach and expanded the parking lot, I thought this would be a good thing to add. The town agreed.
Anyone got any good recipes? Here’s one for you; my own invention. Chili, salsa verde and sour cream….YUMMMMMMmmmmm.
By the way, My stage name is actually Little Dixie, and I have seen Dixie dogs and such somewhere.
i just got some permits i also talked to a lady in mich. today soon to to be up in running in az.
Hi Robbin: A lake spot where the Park’s stand is closed is one heck of a good spot!
NY state is closing their State Parks this year in an effort to save money. Sad…
Although I’m no expert, I do agree that the food table should be under a tent or umbrella, both for the sake of the condiments and your skin. You’ll fry. 🙂 Also, it’s easy to move the garbage can a bit.
Best of luck!
What fools the State Parks are for closing concessions during the summer. You have a great spot and I wish you luck.
There is a park concession here on a “Utility” owned lake with alot of customers and they are slow as He@*!!! They get plenty of business and don’t use a hot dog steamer. What fools!!
Keep up the good job.
Louise, snatch that spot up. Get a cart and take their money. Hot dogs are a good anytime food!!
The trouble with this state is that if you do business on state property they want their cut and ask astronomical fees for leases. Private or town property is the only way I know of to escape that. I got my spot rent free on the town beach.
