Want to save some time building your own hot dog cart?
Hot Dog Profits Premium member Scott Glover was just about finished with his E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart when an opportunity presented itself. Scott got access to one of the bays at a local car wash and he is going to build it out as a hot dog stand.
Pretty neat idea, but now he doesn’t need the cart. So Scott wants to know if there are any folks in the Pittsburgh PA area who would like to purchase a nearly finished E-Z Built. This is a great opportunity to save a lot of time and a few dollars on your build.
According to Scott, all you would need to do is attach the skins, hook up the plumbing, and paint it. It has four sinks and an extra large steam table. The trailer frame is included and already built. Not sure if it has a water heater or not, you’d have to ask Scott.
The price is a very fair $500.
Interested parties may email Scott directly at sglover@splashtouchless.com. He will email you pictures and more info.
Wow, that’s a great price and an awesome opportunity for you Scott! If I were closer I would definitely be very interested in buying the cart from you for sure! Good luck and wishing you much success!
Mr. glover, please send all info that you have, and exactly where you are on the cart, pictures would help.
thanks ken

Scott rethink this one. With a stand you don’t need a home baseand you will be able to cater and do special events. I know you will wish you had that cart later. Just to use it as advertising in front of your stand is worth the cost.
I must agree with Tom. I think you should keep it and finish it.
Send me some pictures !

Please explain difference between a stand & a cart. How do you do catering with a stand?
Hi Val,
The terms “stand” and “cart” are used somewhat interchangeably. In some parts of the country a hot dog cart is referred to as a stand. However most folks call a mobile unit a cart, and a permanent non moving establishment a stand.
As much as I would like to purchase this cart…I am not ready right now but I agree with some of the others that perhaps you should keep it? It sounds great! I am working on storage but have in my plans picked a color and actually had decided to pay a guy to build my cart. (smile) I hope whatever you decide works out for you.
Scott…I am located just South of Erie (about 2 hours away). Please send me more detailed Info and some pictures.
Scott, I agree with the “keep the cart” comments; consider that now with a B&M location you can be your own commissary (at least in most jurisdictions) and a portable unit just adds value!
Good thinking!
Thanks Steve for posting this and thanks all for your replies. I thought about keeping the cart to roll out front and if I don’t sell it I probably will use it as a marketing prop. I owned this car wash and needed to shut it down after I sold one within close proximity. I thought it would be easy to make a drive-thru with the car wash bays and this would be a huge draw for bringing in the huge drive thru market (I heard more than 70% of McDonald’s revenue comes thru their drive thru). Anyways thanks for your input. Here is some additional info on the dog cart and the link for some photos:
Please see photos at shutterfly.com as the files were too large to send in email. The hot dog cart is pretty much done except for some final plumbing that needs done including installation of the hot water tank and water pump. The plans were changed a bit to adhere to the local plumbing code so it includes a hand sink as well as a three bowl sink. I have the water heater pump, trailer, and everything needed except for outside wood skins. I am firm on my price of $500 as I have much more into it. The cart is located in east suburbs of Pittsburgh and is available for local pick up only.
