Yellow. Red. Yellow and red. Red and yellow.
Don’t get me wrong, I love yellow and red E-Z Built Hot Dog Carts, heck – mine’s yellow too.
Being noticed is the first step in the sales process so visibility is the name of the game.
But I also love it when something different comes along.
When you see the pictures below you will agree.
This one is different.

Steve,
I am finally ready to make some money! Attached you will see the pics of my EZ built cart. I made a few modifications to it but overall it is pretty standard. My health dept. requires 4 sinks so obviously they are there. I still have plans to install glass tile on the top and add a small grill next to the dish wash sinks but that will probably come this winter. I am ready to start slinging, well as soon as my health license comes in and I get inspected that is. Anyway thanks for the great plans and I will keep you posted as business progresses.

I like the Green cart. Yes red and yellow are good but so is green. I think Richard did a great job and he should do very good. I am building a trailer right now. Where can I get a good steam table? I like the one Richard is using.
Really a great job i like the color . I hope things go well for you . If you can’t be seen its not gonna be your fault.
Very Electric Looking .This cart would catch my eye.The color is just awesome.I know you will have much success.Have fun Slinging those Dogs Richard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Relish Dispenser link
Mad Dog,
You have me foaming at the Mouth……….. Great Looking Cart!!…… I am green with Envy
Nice look good detail good luck slingin
I too share with others that I like the color. Green is Relish, Red is Ketchup, and Yellow of course is Mustard. I was thinking of a red and yellow motif, but now I am thinking of combining all three colors, hmmmm …..
Is that an SS Cooler, or what in the middle of the cart? And you mentioned using glass? And as tiles? GREAT idea. Our HD doesn’t allow glass in use on our carts.
Tons of good thoughts inclined in your direction and good luck on passing everything so you can go out there and sling dogs.

Now if you can just find green hot dogs 🙂
NICE!!! Great job
Don,
You can find green hot dogs on the roller grill at most convenient stores and gas stations. Yuck.

That is a nice stainless cooler!

Good Luck Richard,
Your Green Machine should be making you some green in no time at all.

great job Rick nice……………… the county i live in md told me i need an extra sink. u can never please anybody in the state of md.
Looks great! People wont miss it!! Best of luck!
Hey Rick, great job on the cart. I have one question for you…what are the eye hooks located on both sides of the cart for? Is this where your menu hangs from?
Thank you all for the great feedback! I can’t wait to get this operation going. I have some great events planned and an excellant daily location. My wonderful wife came up with the fabulous color and and it just took off from there. Now as long as green =$green$ we are in business.
Thanks
WOW What a great job, that color is a great idea. Wish you all the best.
Mad Dog! Awesome Cart!! I absolutely love it!! Really, nice job! Love the black and green! You should really give yourself a pat on the back!
Jason
Awesome job on the cart. I wouldn’t have gone green, but I’ve made plenty of mistakes. I hope it works great for you.
Well, I am color blind, but wow, I sure can recognize quality! Best wishes for this summer. I know you’re gonna do great!
Cooool… Good Luck!
Gret birght color. great job on cart. The tired and
true and tested most attractive colors are yellow and red. Look at McDonals, Hardee’s, Wendy”s and
Burger King to mentions a few. It has been proved those two colors attract more customers. However
if you are going to stray from that, Use the brighest, flashiest color you can find. Their are really no limits but you want something that will get attention right away and make you stand out from the other vendors. That bright green is awlsome.
good luck…
looks great!
The craftmanship on this cart is top quality. You did a very good job on construction, painting and design. You should have no trouble drawing attention to this baby. Good Luck!!!
Rick, I applaud you on your creativeness and ability to act on your instinct and risk taking. If you don’t try it you won’t know if it works. The color is different but it will catch the eye. Good luck on your venture and may you sling many doggs this season. I know that there was green ketchup out for alittle while, I don’t know if they are still making it. John
Wow…looks like the same electric lime as mine. Except mine has flames on it. lol great minds and all….. looks great.
Hi Steve,
I purchased your book and I have been reviewing the material on a regular basis. I also follow your blog and the other doggers comments. I learn a lot. We are not quite ready to decide or buy our first cart however I have been working on the name and a business plan. This green cart is great, but I was wondering what state they are in, the name I have been working on is similar to his but not completely. My homework so far shows I can use the name I chose but I have not applied for a license yet.
Your response is appreciated and thanks for all the great tips I get from everyone.
Gayle
Steve,
I love the color. I know it will be a huge sucess. I havn’t got my up and going yet. I have a stainless steel hot dog cart that I am getting a new top made . I think I will call it the covered wagon? And I will get a great sign made.
That is a rockin cooler! Is that a Coleman 54 qt? Did you have to modify the cart at all to accommodate it? I bet you never run out of drinks!
Another great looking cart!!!! Steve’s plans are really worth the price. The step by step instructions are really easy to follow.
Gayle,
Don’t worry too much about the name. Unless you are in the same town with the exact same name as someone else, it will never be an issue.
Don’t wait until everything is perfect to start your business – you will never be 100 percent ready. The important thing is to get out there and start slingin’!
-Steve
Thanks King!
-Steve
I think the eye hooks are used for holding down the pans in transport. ?
Steve,
Thanks for the advice but currently I have a full time job in So Florida. We are planning to make our move to No Georgia by the end of the year. I am anxious to make that first buck slinging dogs. Using this time to create menu’s, etc and reading all the great tips.
Gayle
Richard – OMG – I so love it – the coolest EZ built EVER!!!!!!!!!!! with the stainless awesome!!! AND glass tile – I too am jealous! great job! make a million! Renee and Susan
That’s a really cool cart!!! Is the cart made of metal? If not what is it made of and is there a special kind of paint that was used.
What a great hit this will be on St. Paddy’s Day!
