This is such a cool story. Monti Yvon, a Hot Dog Profits Premium member from California just emailed me to tell me how he got his hot dog cart for an initial investment of $200.
You’re going to love this, slinger! Monti writes…

Hello Steve.
1st I want to thank you for your inspiration. You make it fun man.
Well, I had a 2 year plan to get a Hot Dog cart.
I have been doing a lot of bartering on Craigslist, just for fun. I started with a nice ring and a watch. Valued at about $200.
I did a variety of trades and ended up with a 1986 Honda 250cc scooter.
I then found a guy with a Hot Dog push cart. He wanted an additional thousand dollars for his hot dog cart.
Long story short, I traded the scooter straight across. He dropped off the cart and we made the deal. I can’t believe it! I now have my own hot dog cart and I got it much faster than I had planned for.
My brother and I immediately cleaned it from stem to stern. Now it is time to plan for its roll out and get our permits, etc. It will be based on an aviation theme. This is going to be fun!
It is time for me to take you up on your free website plan.
Thank you for your inspiration Steve. We will meet someday.
Chef Monti

A wheel & deal fer sure matey !!
Barter is based mostly on what ye need or want more so than actual value sometimes.
I be a fairly good trader me self !! Arrrrrgggg !
Good fer ya matey…
1St Mate Jim.
That’s a Kool Story! !!
Have you seen the TV Show about to guys here in California called the “Barter Kings.” Here at the Flea Mkt that I work at, I am always trading Hot Dogs for something. I once traded 3 Hot Dogs and a Soda for a new Ice Chest. The other person views the trade through retail, I view it through cost. So that nice chest cost me less than $2.00.
I hope you business is as successful as your trade was.
Way to go! Reminds me of the Red Paper Clip story I read awhile back.

What an awesome way to secure yur cart, congrats chef Monti!
“That’s one of those stories to tell to the grand kids…much success on your new business ! Once you get up and running you will discover the ‘food bartering’ system (i.e. swap a hot dog combo for a Noddles & Company or a Boston Market Meal)…hint…it helps to know the store managers…lol
