Toward the end of last year I was contacted by the CEO of Race Track Promotions, Steve Quercio. Race Track Promotions puts on awesome Monster Truck and Jet Truck shows around the country.
Race Track Promotions had recently teamed up with Cupid’s Hot Dogs of Southern California and Mr. Quercio needed a website to promote the joint venture. The Hot Dog Profits team built a custom website for the RTP/Cupid’s promotions and Mr. Quercio’s team joined Hot Dog Profits Premium to learn how to sell hot dogs at these events.
The Race Track Promotions guys ended up building a really nice custom E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart from the video lessons inside HDP Premium. It came out awesome as you will see in the pictures below!!!

Dear Steve,
I just wanted to take a minute to Thank You!!! I have no experience in the hot dog vending business, and had researched the different pitches on-line from other companies. You by far were the most professional, and educational.
I joined Hot Dog Profits Premium and paid the reasonable fee to obtain all your how to’s. They worked perfect!
We used your photos and videos to build our cart. We wanted to take it to just a bit of higher level, but can certainly see how someone on a limited budget could build one as you claim.
Equipment: * NSF approved…4 Burner..Inverter…Re frig..Hot and Cold water…Ice Chest in front of cart..High Grade Stainless..Diamond Plate….Trailer as you suggested…
We have a Monster Truck, we named “Hot Diggity Dog” and a Jet Fire Truck that we hope to use as hooks to get good locations. We will put these wild exhibition acts on display FREE…If they let us set-up and sell our “Cupid’s” Hot Dogs.
I would certainly recommend your expertise to anyone wanting to enter the hot dog vending business.
Please feel free to use the enclosed pictures of our finished E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart, and once again. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Steve Quercio

It was a pleasure to work with you too Steve! Keep us posted on your promotions and events. We hope your relationship with Cupids Hot Dogs is long and prosperous for you both.
Great job on the cart!

P.S. Here are the pictures that Steve Q. sent me. Click the picture for a larger version.
That is awesome, really like the ambulance for pulling the cart around. Why not make the ambulance into a concession truck too?
Awesome! Love the skin and graphics!
this is really cool
I have a question !!
Would anyone know how to make the Sabrett red onions?
I tried Carolines pushcart onipns and found them to be GREAT !!
unfortunately they charge alot of money plus shipping
I get the Sabrett onions from restaurant depot
they spoil quickly…..any ideas
Ask and you shall receive Larry…
– SABRETT RED ONION SAUCE
While most of the Sabrett toppings are standard hot dog fare – ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut,
the Red Onion sauce is the real secret!
1-1/2 teaspoons light olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced thin and chopped
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon corn syrup
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup white vinegar
1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium/low heat.
2. Saute sliced onion in the oil for 5 minutes, until onions are soft but not brown.
3. Dissolve cornstarch in water, then add it to the onions, followed by the corn syrup,
tomato paste, salt and red pepper flakes. Stir.
4. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Add vinegar.
Continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes or until most of the liquid has reduced
as sauce is thick.
Makes about 1-1/2 cups
Great match up !!
Everybody loves monster trucks.
Great lookin cart.

Hey Steve this is my dream to do this can you make a hotdog stand out of a simple shed.
Yes, depending on your health codes. I made a permanent hot dog stand out of a pre-fabricated metal car port. It even had a drive thru! I show you how I did it in my book:
Carts of Cash
Coooooool. I especially like the fire truck. As far as their comment “You by far were the most professional, and educational”. I ‘ve always said you were a head above the rest, including that other guy. You know who I’m talking about!
Cool!
Dude if you got the skills to build a jet powered fire truck why not build a “monster”? hot dog stand with a smallblock 400 and giant tires…you could roll over and smash other hot dog carts with it….How ever the one you built looks perfectly fine….
Nice!
great job ray
I had the blasted book…..”Carts for Cash”…..and sadly I can not find the book….
If you’re a HotDogProfitsPremium.com member then you have access to Carts of Cash in the member’s area.
Oh how I miss Cupids Hot Dogs….moved to NorCal from SoCal, and I crave them!!!!!! I try to go when I am down there.
Never had them but they sound wonderful!
Now that is just frickin awesome!!!! That guy is a marketing genious!!! I thought I was doing well with my business, now I’m envious (I guess you could say I have “weenie envy” – lol)
Steve Quercio is an old school promoter from way back. I learned more in 15 minutes working with him than I could have from reading 10 marketing books. He’s a legend.
and ……
Regarding the red onion sauce;
If you don’t “cook” and only reheat (I reheat for both my cart business and brick&mortar – I’m a simple hotdog slinger, not a chef by any means…) Sabretts is expensive of you have to order it. I have a BoarsHead Distributer in my area, and they have “Vidalia Onions in Red Sauce” – they cube the onions instead of “stringing” the onions – it’s expensive also (apx $12 a had gal) it’s cheaper for me because in the slow season I only go thru about a gal and a half a week.
My NYers say its as good or better than Sabretts – I say it’s better because I’m making the hotdogs — ^_^
Thanks for the tip Mike. Boar’s Head makes very high quality products.
