This is really neat – I just got an email from Hot Dog Profits reader Steve Nott in South Wales!
Hi There,
I’m in the UK and just about to ‘go live’. I have bought a ‘New York’ hot dog tricycle and my prices here will be favourable with the customers at £2 a hotdog. I won’t be doing any deals, just keeping it simple, £2 a dog and that’s it.
I don’t have the room for soda cans and extras, it’s hard enough to stock enough bread and dogs in such a small cart but should be able to shift approx 250 a day with 100% mark up seeing as the whole thing costs 49p in total 9 forgetting the cost of my cart.
It’s great to see what others say and thank you for your emails.

I got a big kick out of that, thank you Steve for sending it. And send some pictures when you are up and doggin’!
Let’s hear it for our U.K. brother dogger in the comments…

Holy Catfish!!! That is sooooo cool! I love the idea of the tricycle, literally dogs on wheels :).
The very best of good fortune for you. I am curious about the dogs, and supplies you will carry and how you set up. That is a knock out idea Steve from Wales. Peddles to the metal man.
Business world wide. It doesn’t get better than that. Well until we colonize the moon. Good luck to Steve in Wales!!
I think selling hot dogs is in some people’s DNA. I guess it doesn’t matter where you are from. When I visit Poland last year we ran into a hotdogger in Sopot (near Gdansk). My only regret is not taking photos.
Good luck Steve Nott
Yes indeed, we’d love to see some pictures. Best of luck. Hawddamor
I can’t wait to get out there and showing everyone my Hot dog trike. My target is to sell 500 hotdogs in a day …I know that’s a big goal to aim for but worth a go…. Thanks for all of the good luck wishes and best wishes back to everyone who’s doing it for themselves !
That’s really cool! HDCN is now international. Good luck to you Mr. Nott!
No Drinks? may want to re-think that one, we make about half of our profit on canned sodas and bottled water. I take 2 coolers with me everywhere I go and I set a bus pan full of ice and soda on my table.
Good luck on the venture! Don’t forget the onions!

HOORAY!!!!!!! GB FINALLY DISCOVERED THE HOT DOG! When I was over there they didn’t even make sandwiches! Sounds like you have a great thing going! What kind of hot dogs do you sell? What kind of meat are they made of? What are requirements for permits and are you in a town? Do you go all over or have one spot? Would love to know more!

Hi Steve,
Best wishes. I do think the drinks are important though. Could you add a pull along in back (the kind you see parents dragging their kids around with) and just put a cooler on that?
Great idea!! I also think you should add the drinks to pad your bottom line.
Sounds fun! I hope your legs are in shape!
You might want to team up with a friend that sells beverages. What a dynamic duo!
Best to you Steve and Congrats!
Stay positive and you’ll surround yourself with positive people ! It’s easy to get distracted but worth the effort when you get over each hill……… Good luck and God Bless.
That’s pretty awesome! I believe you’re going to meet your goals. Your going to have a great time & best wishes!
Congrats! Keep biking
I am starting one out in New York on I-84 rest area on May 26th opening day
Good luck!
Sounds like fun Steve Notts! I agree with Peter. Might want to get a pull along wagon. You can just sell water to make it easier. I just bought 32 pack of water for only $3.98. Make $32.00 for a 4 dollar investment! Good luck!
You may look into adding a rack, like the ones on the back of cars that carry wheelchairs, to carry a ice cooler for drinks. There is a lot of income in drinks.
Great tip Gary!
So he’s literally “peddling” hot dogs! That’s excellent and it’s really great to see your connection and even influence “across” the pond. That’s a big deal ?
That’s a big deal!
