I got an email from Kim who reminded me of a subject we haven’t covered in a while. If you are new here at HDCN you’ll get a kick out of it…

Hi Steve,

I’m in receipt of your book, and I’m almost finished reading it (and I’ll read it again and again if I need to).

I thank you for the world of information on the hot dog cart business.  You are so encouraging for those who get cold feet.. like me.  When I have “skeptical” moments, I just delve into your book or read archive news emails.. and I’m back on course.

I’m getting my ducks in a row.  I’ll be ordering my cart in the early Spring.  I want to be up and selling by April 1st.

I also wanted to bring something to your attention.  You might want to include a segment of this in your news email.  Hot dog carts don’t just have to be “on land”.

I used to work with a woman who had a vending business with her husband… on their boat.  Yes, they used to take their boat out on the lake (or river) here in CT and sell hot dogs (and probably burgers too) to other boaters.

They’d just pull up to the side of boats and take their orders.  So, for all those hot dog cart vendors who are avid boaters.. why not make some money on the water ??

Again, thank you.  I truly look forward to and enjoy your informative, encouraging emails.

Take care !!

Kim

A long time ago I wrote a couple of articles on aquatic dog slingin’. You can read them here:

Hot Dog Boat 1

Hot Dog Boat 2

If any of you out there in reader land are doing the hot dog boat thing, email me some pictures. I’d love to share them here at HDCN.

You can learn how to make all the equipment necessary to outfit your own hot dog boat including steam tables, water tanks, pumps, plumbing, and everything else – for pennies on the dollar here.

Thanks for the kind words Kim, and good luck with your Hot Dog Biz!

-Steve
