Hot Curly Wiener!

Picture 2

Hi Steve,

My name is Glen and I ordered your books awhile back and began my trip to a new land. The land of hot dogs, freedom, and happiness owning my very own hot dog cart.

It’s going to be quite the change for me. I’m 37 yrs old and worked my whole life in the Pool and Spa business. Starting out in a wholesale supply warehouse to a Factory Sales Rep. for a major spa manufacturer. I was making great money and traveled all over the world. I was never home. Living in hotels with very bad eating habits. I got sick. Real sick!

I had to quit and havent worked since. Two years ago! Anyway, I finished my E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart and I’m ready to go. Well almost. The Health Dept. License would only be good till the beginning of next year so I’m going to wait till then.

Take a look at my cart! I had it “Wrapped” just like they do for cars. It’s a giant decal, designed on a computer so the only limit is your imagination. Pretty cool.

I named my business Hot Curly Wiener because of the way I cut the hot dog and I’m a fan of Frank Zappa. Other fans of Frank will know what I’m talking about. You can see the hot dog in the middle of my logo. So it looks as though I’m ready to go.

Thanks Steve,
Glen

Love it! Dig it! You are totally awesome Glen!!!

The whole “graphics wrap” idea is so cool, but what I think was pure genius is how you incorporated the look of aluminum diamond plate in the decal. It looks so real!

All you E-Z Builders out there – if you want the look of a metal cart with the ease of wood construction (not to mention saving a few grand $) you could do a full diamond plate wrap.

There’s going to be LOTS of comments on this one… Let’s hear you! Also click the share button all you Facebookers. Let’s give Glen some free pub to get him started on the right foot!

P.S. A little green rosetta – will make your hot dog betta…

  3. That is beyond AWESOME !!! I love that wrap !!! You are gonna catch some serious attention with that EYE CANDY !!! Fantastic Job.

  4. Hey that’s an awesome cart Glen. Hey quick question about the graphics. Our cart gets really hot all around, and we considered the wrap but was afraid it would melt so was just going to powder coat it. Are you going to have that problem at all?

    Thanks Glen and good luck!!

    Matt

  5. @ Bubbadogz,

    Good question.

Unlike some manufactured carts, the E_Z Built is vented in such a way that the cart body stays completely cool on the sides. No problem wrapping it.

  7. WHOA! AWESOME! WHAT AN EYE CATCHER! The aluminum plate decal had me fooled. I had to go back and see what they were talking about. That looks so appealing. If I was driving by and saw that I would definitely stop. It looks so professional and different from most I usually see.

  8. Awesome looking cart, Great Job!!! Question- Did you have the wrap done prior to the completion of the cart, I noticed that the wrap seems to fit perfectly around the vents and drain spout, were these items taken off to get the wrap done and then put back on? Once again, Great Job. —John

  9. Thanks for all your comments. The answers to most of your questions is. I don’t know?!! You have to paint the cart first for the wrap and I had it done by Perfect Appearance here in Pueblo, Colorado. The paper towel holder is cool. You can find it on Amazon. I got mine for $1.00 on E bay.

  10. Super cool, Glen. I too was thinking about the wrap and after seeing how great it looks I am definitely putting down the paint can. It looks so professional that I can’t imagine not stopping and getting one of your very excellent dogs. Speaking of dog, I think yours wants to play fetch. Good luck to ya, Glen!

  11. Wow Now thats nice, How do you compete with that look! What it cost you to do the wrap and did you have to apply it or did they apply it. Wow thats all I can say wow. Great Job! Best of luck to you!

  12. That is one sharp cart!!! can you give a rough estimate to the cost to build? and how long did it take to complete?? Good Luck in your the business, I am starting mine first of year as well, very tired of the 8 to 5 making the boss a rich man.. it’s my time now.. 🙂

  13. You have to wheel and deal with the wrap people. They put it on. Chances are its the first hot dog cart they have done and want it for there portfolio. I paid $375.00. I took me a month and about $1500 give or take.

  14. I love the whole look ! The wrap takes it to a whole new level of professionalizim. Good Job !
    Best of luck.
    Janet

  20. At first look, I thought the cart was made out of metal and then wrapped but I think it’s a wooden cart and the diamond cut edging is actually part of the wrap? Is that right? Anyone else see that? If that’s the case, I would totally go this route and build a wooden cart…I wanted it metal because it just looked so much more professional to me but after seeing this….wow!
