I am looking for larger size hot dogs such as 1 to 1 and 2 to 1….do you have a clue who might make these?
Thank you,
Bob

For the newbies out there a 1 to1 is a one pound hot dog. Two to one means there are 2 hot dogs in one pound so a 2 to 1 is a half pound hot dog.
My biggest dogs are 4 to 1 and those are pretty easy to source. But I don’t have a source for these monster dogs.
How about it slingers? Anyone know of a source for really big hot dogs?
Let us know in the comments!

Try Continental Sausage in Denver, CO. You may have to call them as that would be a custom jobber.

Check distributors like U.S. Foods and Systolic for Eisenberg hot dogs. I know they have foot longs that are 2:1.
Good morning Steve…Bob, I would suggest GFS or Sam’s Club I’m not really sure what area you’re in but those two particular companies open to the public carry a wide variety of different hotdogs. It all depends on what type of hotdog you’re looking for.
I have seen 4:1 made by Nathans

Not sure but I would like to know also.
A 2 to 1 is usually a foot long, which I do & sell great! They are only available in most stores from Memorial day to Labor day, but food suppliers carry them all year in both all beef & beef & pork, along with the buns. I price them at $5.00, and they sell great. That’s the only dog I sell on my trailer, and I fry them(only use all beef for that), but they work great for steaming too. I do get requests to cut them in half for kids, but it ups the gross at the end of the day, and the costs are not that much higher. A 4 to 1 is the biggest dog I’ve seen in a regular size dog. I’ve also had requests for slaw dogs, a southern dog I guess, with chili & slaw. Works great on a foot long. Some customers just want to try it having never heard of it.
I think that sysco has a 2/1 also there is a fellow who has a (i think) 7#
dog that is 4″ dia you cut into 1/4# rounds and serve on a hambuger bun.
Looking forward to a great season already getting my info on events.

Don’t think I would want to mess with anyone who could put that much dog in their mouth. I’m trying to be humorous but there is an element of truth there also. Good luck with your quest.
Steve
I have been using these for years.
Customers love them.
They are in the Boston, MA area and will ship through UPS/FedEx for wholesale orders.
I buy 10 cs/order.
One of the BEST!
Customers love them.

John Morrell makes a 10″ 2:1 All Beef
Hi,
I use 2×1’s – Nathan’s has an all beef 2×1 that is great
I believe something that size is called baloney
You would have to go to a sausage maker.
We had them here in las vegas,
the casinos used to serve them for a novelty.
big thing now is yard long margaritas… mmm
I think Best Sausage was making them for them out here.
don’t know if they stock them or what,
if they don’t you would have to buy a whole cooking run.
also contact a Restaurant Depot.
they know where to buy unusual items.
You might try Zenner’s (http://www.zennerssausage.com/) they have some very good products.
Wow! Thanks I had no idea hot dogs came as monster dogs, for sure intend to be added tothe menu. KKeep posted on info of where to get these belly fillers.
Hi Bob, I stopped selling 2 kinds of hot dogs 2 years ago.I sold Hebrew National, and a quarter pounder Nathans which I’ve had a great deal of success with. The Nathans can be bought in bulk at SAMs Club 160 for $114 I sell them for $3.They also take the place of sausages. One customer asked if I sausages I told her to try Nathans ,she said what’s that a hot dog ,I don’t do hot dogs its nasty.i told her that’s why I only do Nathans .I then asked her to try it as I cut off a piece. She said your no your going to ruin your hot dog, I told her if you don’t like it ,it’s my lunch ,if you like it it’s your lunch. After putting in her mouth, she said give the rest and three to go. All and all Sticking with one dog has well served.Hope I was helpful.
Can anyone help me finding larger hotdog pictures and posters suitable for my hotdog cart? I sell Ballpark dogs, Or I should say I did sell Ballpark dogs. I have contacted them 3 time by email and once on the phone. 5 months later, nothing but promises, sooo, I am thinking now about Nathans dogs. Suggestions please
Try Vienna beef in Chicago they are great to deal with
i would like to know were you get 4 to 1 dog and how mush thank you ray
Would a 1 pound dog be practical? I wouldn’t know where to find one other than a custom butcher, but would that be cost effective? How many people would want that much for lunch? Could you sell enough to make a profit?
I know I’m full of questions, but the answers should be considered. That would be like eating 4 quarter lb. dogs or four hamburgers.
Steve, what do you think?
A one pounder would be valuable as a word of mouth generator but I don’t think many people could eat a whole one.
That be one Big dog !!!
Put it on the all u can eat menu !!
That would be different. Sell it for $15.
Arrrr har har har !!

Well Bob,
It depends just where in the country you are located. Restaurant Depot has these large dogs in most locations and if they don;t, the manager can order them in for you. They are located in 31 states so look them up at www.restaurantdepot.com. They require a membership but, it is free with just a tax number.
Good luck, Leon.
Try your local butcher. If they make their own they can customize any dog for you. Gamepprocessors are also a good source.
Try Sams club @ the concession area I buy 160 hot dogs for 116 dollars, and these are the Nathans Dinner bell type , close to twice normal size all beef frank, very filling great eye appeal to your hot dog customers, very good flavor You get a real package deal, Sams works well with you, plus you can buy over 90 frozen hot dog buns here close to 16 dollars Check it out by buying one first @ the concession area Proof is in the tasting! Good luck!
Gary that hot dog man with the hot dog plan!
In AZ. 2 Places in the Phx. area will make any size you want, w / or w/o casing.
Whoa!!! Thats mighty tall order there! I’ve never seen such a beast! When you find it, please take a picture of it so that I may see these legendary dogs!!
You might wanna try your local butcher or meat shop..and talk about making
your own brand..i’m sure they would do it for the right price..good luck.!!
Find a local butcher/processor in your area. Make sure they already produce hot dogs. They will most likely produce them for you. They should also be cheaper when you buy them in bulk…That’s what we do. Hope this helps.
Happy Jack
Wow!! A lot of GREAT info. The 1:1 big daddy I expect would be just a novelty to be used for in marketing. A bigger, maybe 1:4, would be great for a contest, Free if you can finish it with chips and a large soda. Much like the Big Texan in Amarillo. I also expect to mainly sell 4:1 size. I am located in Tucumcari, NM. Belly Busters, maybe you could give the name of the company in Phx? Thanks to all.
Bob
Just did some checking the 7# dog is by www.BigHotDog.com. today I see a site called www.dealstork.com is offering the 7#er for $60.00 (don’t know if the deal is still good or not). I still think about it at times the amount of 1/4# rounds and hamburger buns could make a special at times.

Check with your local butcher or meat packing plant. The “pounder” dog would be a great promotional item. If some one could eat one, with a bag of chips & a soda in like 30 min., the meal is free. Limit one “win” per individual.

Cheney Brothers has the Duck Deli 2/1. A 10 lb case will currently cost 44.70. If you call them at 561-845-4700 the item number is 214076. You would have to be able to pick it up in person at one of their three Florida locations. Riviera Beach, Punta Gorda, or Ocala.
