Ain’t selling that baby for no 2 bucks.!!
I like too! In fact I’ll be serving Sonoran Hot Dogs as soon as I can get bacon through the local Health Department. We have a young man in charge there who is excessively strict — he even shut down a Waffle House if you can imagine that. Anyway hope your dogs are big sellers and profit makers.

I have to stop looking at these kind of photos before breakfast. I’m dying for a Sonoran Dog NOW!
I was just looking at a dog recipe with the pinto beans ,it used mexican chili sauce
and salsa this one looks better. It looks like a meal to me.Thanks for showing us Perry now i am gonna have to experiment
I like too.
Would you please pass the fork, knife and a bottle of milk?

The ‘wrapped in bacon’ thing makes me wish I had a flat-top griddle instead of a char-broiler!
Look into a Camp Chef stove. You can purchase a flat top stainless griddle called a Griddle Q. I use it on my hot dog cart. The stove sits on four legs with the Griddle Q on top. I can cook dogs, onions and peppers, what ever I like.
The Griddle Q is awesome.
WOW ! Now that is what you call;
Layers of flavor.
Looks like a stomach ache
It would do well in Texas too, all except the becon. I thought about becon, also, but the Health Department told me no, not on an open cart. Anyway, the whole jalapeno is a good idea and this one has the fall colors in it too! With some cheese salsa, this could go for $3.00 dollars. I would think!
OK, looks good, I think I will try it–I know there is a pre cooked bacon somewhere, probably Costco, and I like the pinto bean idea, probably goes down better than Nalley’s chili–probably need to go $5 on it instead of $4, with another dollar for chips and drink–a real guy’s dog deal!!
Looks great. However, we too have a very strict heath dept which will not allow us to have bacon, shreaded cheese, or beans. It sucks! But goood luck to you. It looks delicious.
@ Bruce, You can get a Griddle @ Acadamy for around 75 bucks that sits right on your Char Broiler. Sold also thru Academy.com
Thank you folks. It is a full meal deal. The flavors mix very well together and definitely tingle the taste buds. I appreciate the feed back. LETS EAT!!!
Steve are you trying to copy My Papa-Dogs, well no-way ,josey, ah ha ha ha ha ahhhhhh?
,
Looks great !! Can’t go wrong with bacon !!
1st mate Jim
Steve do you get a free T-shirt and your name on the wall if you eat it all like on Man vs. Food
Now that’s a great looking dog!!!
Hey, question here about the use of packaged bacon crumbles. Will that pass the dept. of health?? IF so, the large bags are available in the large shopping clubs.
Please, someone respond.
Thank you
In Arizona a young man got fined by the Heath Dept for using bacon wrapped around the hotdogs, which is popular here especially in Tucson….so he started using bacon bits until he could get approval. Not as good…but a way to go…Thanks.
one way around the bacon might be to buy the pre-cooked kind. Sorry I don’t have any ideas for the beans & cheese. I am hoping to get my cart built and running during the winter months so I can get started slinging dogs.
Tom,
with your name, I’m sure you’ll get it done.
OK heres the secret” bacon wrap -not, if your health dept does not allow this then ,ask them if you can cook bacon on the spot” then cook bacon strips, and add them to the dog , however they do sell bacon wraped in a prepacked form but those hot-dogs have lots of viniger yack” your customers wont like them, some heath dpt will let you cook dogs with wraped bacon at special events if its cooked on spot and sold
Can I ask you how much you sell that for?
Might I sugges a rack on a toaster oven if it’s possible for any of you to adapt that to your carts. Tooth picks work great for holding the bacon wrapped tight and at 400. they will bake to a great finish in a shor period. Also selling from a trailer will make this very possible as far as the health department goes. I guess it varies from state to state. The feel back is appreciated. Glad I’ve been able to spark some ideas for you all. I have a few more that I’ll share if you’re interested.
Jackie. This goes for $5.50 with Chips and a drink as a meal. I’m sure the price will vary accross the country as well depending on your location and what you can get for it.
Here is Vanc. WA. our health department are a bunch of thugs. I wanted to do bacon wrapped dogs but she said I had to have an inspected kitchen to make them, and I would have to have a fridge on site to hold them. I found a butcher shop that will wrap their dogs for me amd package them to get around the health department. they are more expensive, but they are super preium dogs and really fantastic pepper bacon.
In Oregon, if you have a class 4 cart you can do anyting on site you want. BUT, in the City of Portland the taxes are a killer.
Perry, I would love to hear any ideas you may have on dogs.
Dog Father. I have one called the Trpical Dog. It’s simple and tasty without typical condiments. It’s just a nice beef dog on a bun covered with rough cut clintro leaves and sweet repepper strips and fresh cut pineapple. Give it a try. The taste is very nice together.
I meant Cilantro leaves on that.
and sweet Red Pepper strips sorry for the sticky keys.
Tony’s Cucina also has great Sonoran Dogs on 9th and Alder www.tonyscucina.com
