It’s Hot Dog Cart Radio Time! Grow your business with this info-packed interview featuring Dale Schroeder and Lucky Dawgs!
Dale has gone from working full time as a craps dealer in a casino to being a professional hot dog vendor, exceeding his old income and gaining his freedom in the process. Today you’ll hear how he did it.
Dale started out with a manufactured cart which he was very disappointed with.
His next move was to purchase the E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart Video and Plans Package so he could build a nicer cart for a lot less money.
He did such a good job that a passerby made him an offer he couldn’t refuse and he sold E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart #1 for a nice profit.
E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart #2 came out even nicer. Here’s a picture of it at Dale’s daily location right under the Reno Arch. (Is this a great location, or what?!!!)
Cart #2 came out so nice that another passerby just hired Dale to build one for him. Wait until you hear how much Dale is getting for E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart #3…
It’s all in this edition of the Original Hot Dog Cart Radio

Dale,
We have a grill and we’re surprised you’re so successful without one. If we had an arch like you have there in our town, it would take orders from Obama, Michele and the Gov of Colorado to get permission to park there. Ha ha! Love the Coca Cola sign and the over-all look of your set-up. Keep slinging.
Some of my old friends in New Orleans went to be Dealers in Vegas in the 1860’s, and they would think you’re nuts to switch from dealing in an air conditioned swanky casinos to stand on the sidewalk and sling dogs, but what do they know about good fresh air and sunshine, eh?
We wish you continued success,
Boo and Drew Hargis
Fruita Colorado
The 1860s huh? I knew you were getting up there but I never realized how much…
😉
Hey Boo and Drew, I am sure you meant 1960’s. Running my own hot dog stand and making great money is waaaay better than having to breath everyone’s second hand smoke. I have been in casinos for twenty years and trust me, it is not as glamorous as it seems. Plus the folks are much nicer to me when I give them something for their money.
Also, I do use a Weber Q-100 grill on my cart. It is the best!
I was wondering if Dale is using the on board cooler for drinks. I didn’t see any other coolers. If the cooler is for drinks where would he keep his stock.
On board cooler is for drinks. The front of cart has room for ice chest but I use it for cooking water. I always have my truck around for back-up.
I salivate every time I get a message from you and view your wonderful cart with all the yummies.
Cool stuff
Indeed. Glad you liked it!
I’m wanting to get into the hot doggin Buisness and can’t wait. Do you no of a website for used low cost carts?
We have a classified section full of used carts. Click Here.
I’m here in the Tucson area, do you have to replenish the ice on your on board ice chest during a hot day? I’m trying to figure out what extras I may need. Thanks!

Usually not. Keep the cooler lid closed as much as possible. This really helps.
Mary Paisley, if you can invest in a Yetti, it will hold ice for a week. It comes with a cost though……..
The problem with most coolers is there is no insulation in the lids. There is a video on YouTube on how to insulate the lid to give you maybe two or three extra days.
