This just in from Hot Dog Profits Premium member John. He did a great job building his own cart with the E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart video and plans (included in the membership). He writes…
Hi Steve, I just finished the cart, breezed through approval and inspection. Made a few alterations, aluminum top and trim work. Will start promo shortly.

Way to go John!! Nice cart!
Is the top of your cart stainless steel or aluminum? Also could you tell me who did that for you and how much it cost? I think that is a terrific idea!
THANKS
I believe John told me it’s aluminum. Aluminum cuts easily with a fine blade jig saw. Use kerosene as a lubricant on the blade to prevent the aluminum from gumming up on the blade. Cut it to the size of your cart top and lay in in place. Trace any cutouts such as the cooler from underneath. Remove the aluminum and cut out the openings that you need.
Then laminate it on like you would laminate a counter top using contact adhesive. There are good YouTube videos that show you how to do that. Trim it out with aluminum angle.
That is how I would do it. John, if you are reading this, tell us what you did.
By the way stainless steel is about a thousand times harder to work with than aluminum. It’s incredibly hard to cut and drill. Stick with aluminum unless you are a metal working pro.
Lucky Dawg your better to score the under side of the aluminum sheet so it bends evenly, you wont have the trouble trying to clean under the angle aluminum my health dept. wouldn’t pass on that,I tried.
That’s a good point Joe. Cleaner from both a sanitary and aesthetic standpoint as well. Thanks!
Nice job John, I wish you well.
Great Job John Looks Really Professional…Luv it………….
That is a gorgeous cart. I really like the way you did your front caster wheel. I would like to see a close up of it. I need to redo my front wheel. What kind of locking door handles did you use. They really look nice. I believe people will be drawn to your cart. My motto has always been, “Presentation is 80% of your success.”
