Steve,
I’ve been observing your website, it’s been a very valuable tool. I wasn’t sure how to upload pictures to your blog so I’ve attached them to this email. If you can please post these so I can get feedback from the other vendors.
I too have a story behind my cart, I am a Minister and I use my cart not only to make money but to help spread the word of God. The Lord gave me this vision for this cart 10 years ago, and I’ve just recently moved forward. I’ve been up and running 3 months.
I really would like to run during the upcoming winter (I’m in Kansas City MO, gets pretty cold here). I appreciate the blog.
Thanks for all that you do!
Dominic

Hot food sells great in cold weather but the real key to successful winter vending is keeping your feet warm. That’s the toughest part 😉
Good luck to you Dominic, and may you accomplish all of your goals!

Dominic, what a blessing!
Tough I lived in Ohio for 10 years, I don’t like the cold. I often used foot warmer packets in my boots when I had to spend much time outside. I just put them down in the toe area. Keep changes of dry socks with you because if it warms up much, your feet will sweat.
As for me working in the winter, I would probably be so wrapped up I would look like Randy in The Christmas Story!

Dominic,
Looks like your setup is pretty tight and squeaky clean! The sandwich board looks great and your cart looks fantastic!
The weather’s starting to cool off up here in Edmonton, Alberta but people are still willing to brave the chill to grab a hot dog or smokie!
We opened at the new South Edmonton Farmer’s Market and although the sky was cloudy, business was brisk and we had a pretty excellent day.
Montana is just across the border from us so we will probably be enjoying the same season. I’m preparing my carts for the winter which introduces a whole new range of challenges.
Good luck on your business and your mission!
I live in Michigan and am intrested in any one that lives in a cold climate like mich that would let me know how they do in the winter
If you are going to work the cool times don’t forget to serve coffee and hot chocolate. Use air pots to keep them hot and fresh
This is a great profit builder
Good Luck Big D! Looks like you have a great location and a good set up. I plan on going through the winter also. I am planning on offering soup and cornbread. Customers seemed exicited about it. Best of luck!
You will do good because there is always someone looking down on you. Have fun and God Bless you.
The difficult part of winter will be keeping the water in the cart from freezing!
Why to go Dominic great idea to spread the word while you make a little cash and have fun doing it awesome keep up the great work God Bless
Big D, search the internet for “battery operated heated socks” and be sure to put cups of chili on the menu.
Good luck, the cart looks great.
Welcome to the doggin community Dominic. In the winter keep your dogs hot, and don’t let your pop freeze. Your toes are just going to have to suffer. LOL. Good Luck (sounds like you got all the help you need). Always have fun
Nice setup good luck mr d
Hi Rick!
What are air pots you mentioned using for coffee?
Luv the set-up and good luck!
Great going Dominic…
So glad you got that little push to get started., ;).
When He is for you who can be against you. I’d say good luck, but we know it’s blessings.
Ditto, on the nice set up, D. Great idea on the coffee & chili! Where are you located at? We are in Topeka, would love to stop by & visit, plus getting a dog! Best of luck to you!!!
Dominic, nice setup. Blessings to you and your faith! I am just in the beginning stages and I will be running year round here in Loveland CO. But what comes to mind the most other than keeping feet warm is being safe and keeping slips and falls non existent ! Keep slinging dogs for Jesus buddy! Peace be with you!
Great cart design, love the cooler setup…. Keep it fun and the weather will not matter…. Welcome to the dogg world………….

Rubber kitchen mats would help keep your feet off the concrete and keep them warm on cold days.
GOD BLESS AND GOOD GOING! We serve “Soup Beans” and corn bread, (Pintos that we have slow cooked) It is a huge hit! We use the Jiffy cornbread mix and make little muffins and they love them!
Go ye therefore and teach all nations, while at the same time you sell a couple of dogs!
Wanda Swan
Wanda,
I spent a few years in West Virginia as a kid. Pintos and cornbread were a staple. I still love them to this day, especially with a raw onion slice!
-Steve
Jerry,
Your water lines won’t freeze if you run your water every 15 minutes or so, just a splash to keep it moving.
The tanks are inside the cart where it stays warmer as long as the fire is going. No problems there.

I am a Minister myself, and have been looking at this thing for some time. Sharing the Word is most important, and the folks hear seem to be good folks, and always encourage others, instead of tearing them down. It does feel as if it is a family of its own making. I would love to hear from ya and how you are doing, Business and Soul wise. God Bless and sell (sling) those Dogs like an Evangelist. Preaching and Slinging, Ya know Brother, it just has a good Ring to It. One more of y’all to add on my prayer list… 🙂 Hallelujah!!! (ms-repair@live.com)
You might try an old “steer jock” trick from the winter show circuit. Setup your tent or awning with three sides enclosed, fire up the turbo heater and whala! If folks can fit cattle you can sling dogs! Good Luck and God Bless!
