Short and sweet today. I need to know how many of you are using Macs.
Dan, my genius software developer (and a really good dude), asked if we should maybe think about building a Mac version of the Cash Tracker Hot Dog Cart Bookkeeping Software that we currently offer.
Just let us know in the comments. We’re trying to see if this is something we should pursue.
Also, if you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Dan’s support with your software, let him know how good he is in the comments.
I just happen to think he looks better with his head all nice and swelled up π

No Mac here. No Windows either. Oh well I guess I can’t use your software.
Yes steve, I have macs at my house and would love the cash tracker for it, let me know.

Steve-
I’m not using and don’t plan to use a Mac in the near future.

Looks like a nice simple program that many will find easy to use. As a Quickbooks Pro user I think a program specific to your industry makes sense for a lot of people. I’m a Mac user as well.
I’m definitely Mac-centric! I checked out Cash Tracker back when I bought your book and DVDs, but my last PC died soon after. . . .
The program looks great, and is implemented well. Working with Access-type databases at my “day job,” I have not seen anyone who has done such a user-friendly system as Dan. I would definitely go the Mac route, if available. I considered purchasing the PC version with the thought of getting another PC in the future, just to run the program!

I have a Mac and a PC. However the Mac is what I do all my business stuff on. It has been one of the reasons I haven’t purchased the software π I am slowly but surely getting away from PC’s. I LOVE MY MAC!!
I use a MAC and that is the only reason I have not yet bought the software. I have every product but the Cash Tracker.
Yes I use a mac mini I love it! PC sucks! Please make a Mac version! Thanks Ron
l’m strictly a mac user and would purchase if available
I use a Mac… !
One thing that might be more interesting though… what about a standards-based web app version?
You could then offer it to anyone, on any platform, at any time – even mobile.
You could also offer different payment models…
Just a thought!
Yes, we use Macs primarily, but have PCs that routinely go on the fritz, imploding, being unstable, etc… My first generation Macbook Air is nearly 3 years old and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM! NOT ONCE!
I wouldn’t. There is not enough demand for Mac business software so no one really makes it. As a whole people donβt buy Macs for business, but just for graphics. By the way our PCs does graphics at work just as good as our Macs so put all the extra cash into your HD business where it will do the most good.
I use both at work and my home 2 desktops and 4 laptops at home are all PC.
Wesley
I’m a Mac user.
We have 2 MACS ; )
Hey Steve, We have two macbook’s and love them. Would love to see cash tracker in mac version. By the way Steve we appreciate you.
Don’t bother spending the money for developing a MAC version. MAC users can run Windows on their Operating System.
I’m a PC user also, I agree with Wesley. Thanks for the good idea of making one for Mac users tho.
I am primarily a Mac user too. I recently purchased the software and had to buy a new Windows lap top to run it on. It was either that or partition my Mac which I really did not want to do. Got the software installed and had to have Dan debug it remotely to get it to run using Windows 7. Dan was great! he had the thing running like a champ in about 30 mins.
While on the phone we also discussed putting a commission based pay roll system into the program to give more flexibility with tracking pay for those who prefer to compensate with commission rather than an hourly rate.
Anyway, I really like the Cash Tracker software but would like it even more if it were Mac compatible!
A Mac version would be a grrreat edition to the amazing material you have.
Hi Steve, No Mac here today or in the future. Most Mac units can use PC items I have been told. What do you hear?
Been using macs for 20 yrs. Would love to see it.
I only have a mac. So yes this would be a wonderful option
Hi folks – I am Dan – the software developer for the Cash Tracker…
For those of you who are currently using the Cash Tracker, if there are some additional features that you feel would make it even more useful to you (for either Windows or Mac) I would love to hear from you!
You can email me at hotdogsoftware@gmail.com
And thanks again for using the Cash Tracker!!!!
Hey, it’s Steve here… thought I’d weigh in too.
I am a Mac user and I run Cash Tracker on my Mac using Parallels software which creates a virtual PC on your Mac. It’s like having a Mac and a PC in the same machine.
I like Parallels but a native Mac version of cash Tracker might be nice…
Keep the comments coming. They really help me know what products you good folks need in your businesses.
Thanks!
-Steve
We’be been a Mac family since 1987
I use a Mac Pro.
I haven’t used Parallels yet so, anything that keeps me from buying programs that I don’t need is a Yea!
Thanks,
Doug
I use an iMac. I get lots of stuff that I can’t use but I have gotten used to it…
Yes, Yes ! Cash Tracker for the Mac-er would be great! I would really like to use the program, but I’m not thrilled about using Parallels! (Thanks for responding to my inquiry)
Mac, yes, and Ipad. After a few years in academe I wouldn’t touch a windows based machine with a thirty foot pole.
The software would be a great option, as would an IPad/Ipod app we could use easily in the field.
Steve not a Mac user here, Only a Big Mac eater. Sorry, just had to.
Have a Merry Christmas.
Yep! Mac user here. Hook a Road Dawg up. π It’s nice to be able to run Windows on a Mac via Parallels, however it would be great if there was a native version without having to use Windows at all… Here’s why:
As soon as you launch Parallels or any software allowing your Mac to run Windows you instantly let yourself be susceptible to the same viruses and compromises to your system as if you had a PC running windows. It’s easier to port software to Macs now anyway.

Mac rocks here……….
Yes, yes, yes! Please make a Mac version. I currently use a PC & hate it. Macs are simply superior. My next computer will definately be a Mac. I’m getting my 3 kids refurbished ibooks for Christmas. Also, if someone already purchased Cash Tracker for PC & then ‘upgrades’ to a Mac, I wonder if there’s a way to switch without paying again for it. Most likely I’ll start off with the PC version.
YES!, I am getting ready to launch my business.
I plan on buying the Cash Tracker, a Mac version would be great.
Make a Mac version man! I converted to Mac this fall because my PC computer crashed again. I lost everything! A Mac version of Cashtracker is all this hot dogger wants for Christmas!
Mac is where its at!
We have both Macs and Pcs at our house. I have cash tracker on my Pc and found it easy to install and to use. I didn’t know support was available for the program. I haven’t really needed any support to date, but I’m glad to know it is out there!
No rotten apples here… lol But seeing the pro Mac responses, might not be a bad idea.
all mac family
There you go Steve! Macs are way ahead! PCs present a lot of problems with viruses and other inherent garbage. I was using Quick Books for my other business and once it is crashed, it is truly crashed! Please develop the Mac version. I know it would bring great things to many good people. Please design it with a commission structure too!
Sincerely,
Brandon
No Macs here, but as long as you offer both, I’ll keep the cash tracker. I’m an accounting “Dummy” and love the cash tracker. Yes, I’ve had his help on the software and he did a great job getting me back on track after my crash. One thing I might suggest on the software program, is under “Cost of goods sold” Add a few more items, like candy, cookies, meat in general and rolls, etc. I’m greatly indebted to the software. It makes everything so easy!!!!
I am a Mac user and would likely buy your software if it were available for Mac (as I have bought your Hot Dog Biz book/CDs and your EZ built DVDs).
Lifetime Mac user. Yes PLEASE for a Mac CASH TRACKER program, I’d be in the market. Thanks for askin’, Steve.
Let me buy what you got now,,,I ain’t got sense
enough what mac (MAC & CHEESE PLEASE).My
computer thing I am looking at says DELL and the
thing beside it says EMACHINES…I would have
to ask my son but he’s at night college…If it makes
more G-O-O-D business for you ….go for it!!!!
Luv the idea of commission based program. Would it be extra.
How about a android version for cell phone?
I would opt for Apple . Ive gone theu numerous desktops and laptops. Ive alway hears nothing but good from Apple users. My next computer will be an Applie I Pad.
I’m with Tracy. I also have a mac & a PC. I am spoiled by the Mac.
Once you go Mac you’ll never go back!
How bout an iPhone App.. We could do our accounting before we even left the job site π
PC User.
Steve,
I saw a new phone that processes debit and credit cards on the fly – no matter where you are located. I don’t know if the applicaiton is Win or Mac based – but it sure would be a neat intergration for your software.
Peg and I are both on Macs. Wouldn’t have anything else. Do the Mac thing Steve !
Hey Steve,
I bought your Cash Tracker software as soon as you released it last year, and I like it. I don’t have a mac but I would like to own one soon. I own an Iphone and would really like to see a cash tracker app for it so that I can sync it to my computer.
I love this Blog!
Tony Sarafian
yes we only have a Mac and would purchase right away !!
I have a Mac, and never would go back.
Mac here. Switched and 99% of the computer glitches and problems disappeared. Mac Air!
Another mac user here. I’m in for a copy if you make one!
Also LOVE the idea of an iPhone app!
All Mac all the time here. I would love to get the software for my computer.
Okay Steve, I think we have enough Mac users to get Dan to program a Mac version of Cash Tracker. But I’m a PC user I don’t own any Macβs at this time. I love to but the only thing I use right now closest to an Apple is the iPad and iPhone. I use a program called quick sale that is a great program the best $10 I ever spent for the iPad and .99 for the iPhone app. I have spent over $500.00 on QuickBooks cash register. You should definitely check this app out it’s a good POS system for your iPad or your iPhone. The Quick Sale app http://www.intellixense.com/?q=quicksaleipad ) is a great cash register POS system for any street vendors. I spoke with the programmer telling him how good this app is. He is making some upgrades on this app this summer for my hotdog business. I told him I would spread the news about his app. Now if we can get Dan! Please Dan I really love to see Cash Tracker be an iPad app also. Cash Tracker is a easy to use program. Come on Dan I know you can do it. The times are changing and everything is going to smart phones. I know Dan you will do really well in the iTunes app store. Then I would have everything I needed to do my book keeping and tracking my sales when Iβm doing vending on the water from my boat.
mac is all i use so i think you should do it for mac’s
Thanks Don.
