Here’s a great idea from one of our Hot Dog Profits Premium Members…
Hey Steve,
Idea for all the slingers out there.
It’s tax time so I’m setting up Saturday at a tax preparation office. This company is giving 50.00 cash to each client so when they come out the door they won’t be broke.
I’m taking a stack of flyers with me to hand them as they go in. I’m offering them a good meal at a great price:)) and I know they’ll be able to pay for it.

I love it. I really love it. Did I say how much I love it?
In fact, I think it’s Gene-ius! 😉
Just like Gene said, Liberty Tax Service has what they are calling their “Cash in a Flash” offer going on now so if you live near one of their offices you might want to see if you can set up there.
Pitch it to them as a way to draw customers. In my town they have a guy dressed up as the Statue of Liberty. His job is to jump up and down by the street so I know they are open to anything that can get them more attention.
Thank you so much for sharing your awesome strategy with all of us slingers Gene! See you in the Member’s area.

You better have a lot of change for those $50’s haha
True 🙂
That is a neat idea and I love the cart. It’s very eye catching.
That’s a great meal deal price. Looks like more promo than profit.
It’s a great way to let people know that you are open for the season.
Still to cold in the northeast & other parts north matey.
Going to be in dry dock a bit longer. Arrgggg!!
Love the lime green !! Best o luck to ye mate.

I agree with your pricing assessment Jim. Most doggers are still underpricing their product.
OMG! Genius indeed! What an obvious place to set-up—one that I never thought of !
My Mother goes to the same tax guy from the old neighborhood for some 50 years, and they take first come first serve, you can imagine the wait! But it’s personalized service, and she will go no where else- a captured audience! I love this forum, Great job Steve!
Glad you like it Robert but Gene deserves all the credit!
Great idea! Did you note though that for the same $5 a person could get 2 dogs, 2 bags of chips and 2 drinks if they order the FIRST deal TWICE, rather than the second deal. As I am a newbie to the game, do people think like this?
Hmmm…
Good eye John!
I missed that !!
How about a sign that says ” free chips, tomorrow only”
Har har harrrr !!
!st Mate Jim.
I feel that is a great idea. I have been watching our liberty tax guys and i think i will go ask myself. I went to a show on fri. Night and sat. I did really good if i must say. I even sold my hot dog cart that i use for i nside shows. But i was wondering where i should set up next at. His prices r like mine and i learned this weekend cheap aint good cause if i wouldhave charged like i usually have i would of been sitting really good. But im not mad cause i still did good even cheap.
Make your dogs better than average, then charge more than average.
i went down to a national deli hot dog it is 57 cents a dog very deliciouse chicago style dog 3.50 all beef dog 2.75 nobody ever complains so i agree charge more and make it better.
Yep. We’re not selling gas station hot dogs. And don’t want to.
Gene…love that idea.
I usually do about 6 customer appreciation days from Spring to Fall and believe me my customers like it and talk about it to their friends.
I’ll do anything from free cookies, muffins & Krispy Kreme dounuts and I just use the funds from my tip jar to cover the cost.
I will have to incorporate your idea into my business plan.
Keep up the good slingin’ !!!
I’ll do anything for free cookies too!
Oh, you said “from free cookies”… never mind 😉
I think $3.00 each, but two for $5.00 is fair. Take off .50 if they order a combo.
If you charge over $3.00 you better have no compitition and a delicious product.
I serve Sabrett dogs in Reno, the only cart to have them.
