Steve I think this may help some of the people out there. I know I’m a newbie and shouldn’t complain, but I find it a little annoying everytime you get started to go out, you have to take the pans out of the cart and secure them, then take the stove brass burner rings and do something with them so you don’t loose them. I made this locking system out of aluminum. This way when you leave to go to your destination, put everything in place and when you get there just unlock it and your ready to go. Then when your ready to leave just empty the water out from the pans lock it up again and your gone. The lids are secure and you don’t have to worry about anything flying around. I hope this helps someone. The faster you can setup and break down means a lot to me. P.S. I counted 9 gators yesterday, I think I’m starting to smell like a hot dog at the end of the day. I could have swore I saw one looking at me with a smile. (LOL)

Simple, but very smart, thank you Pat, I will surely use it.
Pat, You need to add some clips to the straps and dril a hook then when you get to your spot you can clip your chips on it and hang it up, just saying, thinking out side the box..

Like the locking system, think I will do that with my cart, I have towed it short distances without anything holding the lids down and lost a lid or two. Also does anyone know where you can purchase the hinged lids I see on some of the carts, I have one on my bun side but none for the smaller pans. Thanks
Exactly what I was looking for! Show us “How to” so to speak. That would make things a WHOLE lot easier for me!
Also handy when you need to go to the restroom!
Outside the box can go bothe ways. I had a health inspector at the planning board tell me that my steam pans must have drain plugs and be attached to the waste water system in order to allow me to drain the water “safely” without burning myself. That was my first box to jump. I like Duggs Doggs idea of adding clips on the bracket in order to get multi use out of it. You can mount a lot of chips on that bracket. Out side the box! Mr. Tiki

Thanks guys, I’ll draw some kind of plan to show you exactly how easy it is.The reason for the little padlocks is in case you have to go to the rest room , it acts as a deterrent. But the main reason is when your driving you don’t want the locking bracket to vibrate off the top of the pans.
When I’m done with the plans I’ll send them to Steve so he can post them.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!! I had the same idea but wasn’t quite sure how to do it. I toyed with a couple of screw eyes and a bungee cord but your device looks much more professional & secure. I’m with some of the others a “How To” guide would be great! What a great idea & a great device. I gots to have me one right away.
Side Bar: I found some thick solid copper wire that I have looped around my burners to keep the brass ring from coming off & getting lost. It seems to hold up to the heat very well and was a cheap & easy solution. Obviously if you have your device in place you wouldn’t need thw wire but if some of you doggers want to secure your burners easily & cheaply without building the pan bracket look into the wire. Good Idea with the locking system, I use a couple sheets of aluminum foil draped across the lids and then I tuck the foil under the edges of the pans, and then use a tie down straped from one of my handles to the fender on the trailer,never lost a thing. I add a few drops of dawn dish soap and a small amount of water to the pans, soaks the pans while Im heading home, makes cleaning eaiser at the end of the day!
