Larry Helveston just sent me an amazing email. Here it is:
Steve,
Well I finally finished my cart. After over a year researching the business, I decided to go ahead and make the plunge. It’s been a labor of love to build my cart, because by no means am I a carpenter.
I’ll never be able to thank you enough for the courses you developed in “Carts of Cash” and the “E-Z Built DVD’s”.
First of all I’m a chiropractor by profession for 29 years. My wife and I have a home practice and I also have a tremendous amount of mowing to do twice a week here at home. The medical profession is going down the tubes fast and has become unenjoyable and not very profitable anymore, hence the hot dog business!
I’m looking so forward to starting a new and exciting all cash business where I don’t have to fight insurance companies anymore!!
For those of you thinking about this business, don’t even attempt it until you read Steve’s “Carts of Cash” book in the Hot Dog Profits Premium course, it’s the bible of the hot dog business. If you are thinking of building your own cart, please get Steve’s E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart videos (also included in the Premium course), they are priceless. If I can do this, and believe me I made many mistakes, then anyone can build their own cart.
I learned a lot during the construction and I’m pleased the way it turned out. I’ve got about $800.00 bucks invested in it, and I’ll make that back in no time.
Good luck and prosperous doggin to ya.

The E-Z Built cart was designed from the beginning to be super easy to modify. That’s why you see so many versions of them (click here for photos). The side serve set-up like Larry just built is really catching on!
The plans do not specifically detail the side serve version, simply because it’s so easy to do. After you watch the videos you will know how to build the whole cart, therefore you will know how to modify it.
To build a side serve version, just stretch the cart body to accommodate an extra cooking station if you wish, and rearrange the upper cabinet placement. Easy peasy, double cheesy.
You can watch me build an entire E-Z Built Hot Dog cart from start to finish in the videos and see for yourself. After you see me build one, you’ll be able to customize yours any way you want to.
Beautiful cart Larry, you certainly did a great job. And I LOVE your logo!
Here are more pics of Larry’s unbelievable, super cool hot dog cart. Click the pic for a larger version…
And let’s give Larry some high fives in the comments!

Very nice job!
I really like the side serve style.
You’ve done a really nice job. Good name, also.
P.S.- maybe a little pull-out chiro table for some side work??? (Ha-ha!!)
I just noticed, is that a double burner with a small toaster oven under the GriddleQ? Where did you come up with that?
The finish work looks really good. The trim is well done, and I think the sliding doors in the top are the bee’s knees!
Again, Great Job!!
I am not sure what more can be said. That about explains the effectiveness of Steve’s program. Larry, always have fun. I think we have a few things to discuss about mowing. LOL! Sell ’em all
Awesome Larry! What great colors and design of your cart. You must be very proud. My best to you.
wow from chiropractor to dogs, what a change, but its a real good change. you will meet so many nice people in your new line of work, I work mine from the side and you will find out its easy working that way, you get more room to serve etc… hey Larry good luck and the beat to you and your wife.
Tony

Again Larry, I think you’ve done a great job. What you said about Steve are my thoughts exactly. I can’t wait to get mine finished!
Great Job Larry!! I know you are going to do great!! I can’t wait to come and get some Dogs over there in Anderson.
The cart looks amazing and I particularly love the Hot Dog being chased by the Mustard and the Bun.
It looks like a fun spot to stop and have lunch.
I wish you the best.
Thanks fellow doggers ofr all the kind words. I’m having a lot of fun slinging dogs. David I’m in the state of Tennessee 20 mi. north of Knoxville. I’m slinging dogs @ the Anderson county court house. I’ve run into a battle with the county commission over my location. Its all political because it being election year. Lostsheep, the stove came from harbor freight.
Again thanks fellow doggers, my dream has come true!
Notice how only the bun and – mustard – are chasing the hot dog? No ketchup….. 🙂
Way to go Larry!

Great Job!! I really do like the side serve version. 🙂
Can’t wait to get started in building my cart from Steve’s plans. The card owners did a fantastic job at building theirs! Al
Hoping to get started soon at building my own cart from Steve’s plans. I’m trying to save up enough money for his plans and material to build it. I’m just gonna love this hot dog business!!
Hey Larry,
I really like the design of your cart, and the umbrella really makes it pop for eye appeal. Love the logo too. My best wishes for you and your wife’s success doggin’.
BTW, I am curious as to what brand of dogs you are selling and variety of toppings. We already know about the ‘mustard’ chasing the dog :).
That’s a GREAT looking cart Larry. I love the colors, the side serve which lets you talk face to face with the customers. It’s just very professional looking. The only question I have is why are the faucets over the condiment containers? Where is the sink? Sorry, that was two questions.
I absolutely love it though!!
Just getting started in the Hot Doggie Biz! Nice cart you built! Hope mine turns out as nice! Good luck ….Sell, Sell, Sell!
AWESOME Hot Dog Cart , I know what you mean about the Insurance Companies , Running my own painting business and having to have business owners and workmans comp Insurance Is very exspensive for me I couldn’t imagine having to pay what you probably had to pay but anyway I have been looking into the Hot Dog Biz and I might try next year , I hope when I get the chance my cart looks as good , God Bless , Marc
@ Marc,
Business liability insurance for a hot dog cart is under $500 a year. No workman’s comp. Not a bad deal!
-Steve
congrats larry, I love the cart, you did a great job, and the logo is hilarious. good luck with your new biz.
Wow! Good job Larry! I just compleated mine and can’t wait to start.By the way marc. I am now an x-painter. The insurance kills you. Steve has it together when it comes to selling dogs. I am allready planning to build a second one and putting it in another town close by. Wish you the best!
Robert M. Surely you jest! Those four square things are the sinks not condiment trays. They are 1/6 size steam pans. Teri, I sell the Bakers and Chefs all beef dogs from Sams. People absolutely love them. My biggest seller is the Chicago dog with relish, onions, dill pickle slice, tomatoes, pepperoncini pepers, and celery salt. I also make a mean chilli dog, I make my own chilli.
Looks great ! Hope you have fun and make lots of money. I like your side serve cart too. My cart is a side serve and my customers always compliment how nice it looks. I also like the siding door cabinest for your condiments.
Congratulations Nephew. I wish you much success which I believe you will have because you will honor God. If I were there you would have a helper!
LOVE DA NAME!!!
Excellent job buddy, great color contrast and design ***** ……… Good luck stay focused !!!
Ray & Vicki
Hey larry that cart is gonna make u a whole lotta bucks!!!!!
WOW! Cart looks great!! I love the griddle set up, and is that a refrigerator or do you use refreezable ice??? Is that a toaster and what kind of power does it use??? Where did you get it? I have a cart also and the freezer and refrigeration is the biggest issue. Looks like you have mastered it. Love your cart and good luck to you.
Tenacity, no refrigerator, I use small quart size plastic milk jugs and refreeze them for my cooler on board works great. It is a a little oven that uses propane with the stove. You can get it at harbor freight. Aunt Mary Ellen thank you so much.
Larry,
Those would never cut it for a sink in SC. Thanks for the reply and I do love the cart.
Most cart manufacturers use the 1/6 size steam pan for sinks because that’s all that is required in the vast majority of the US. One of the many advantages of building your own E-Z Built cart is that you can easily customize it to meet your local codes. Need bigger sinks? No sweat – just put in bigger sinks and go sell some hot dogs.
– Steve
I think I will be using his side counter plan on mine but will relocate the sink. It’s a great looking cart!!
I love the cart! I wish you much success and I bet you are lovin’ your new business. Keep us posted on your hot dog ventures.
Great looking cart !!! I’ve added 4 sinks to my cart to be able to sell a larger varity of food. My question is about the no workers comp. The county fair here says comp required ! I have a dump truck bussiness and have a workers comp exemption thats renewable every 2 years. Would my comp exempt be any good for the dog cart ??? Thanks for any advice !
Ahoy matey. I know right where ye be. The Anderson County Courthouse is in Clinton Tenn.
Believe it or not that’s where I grew up as a kid many year ago !!
Ahoy mate Steve. Love the storys. Keep em coming.

Larry,
Great looking cart looks like making a lot of money will be easy. I have the same sink set-up on my store bought cart. never have to use since they(HD) only worry about if you drop your tongs. I just take out one of the 1/2 dozen I carry with me. No problem.
“Sell em’ all”

just look at all the YouTube videos of these kids coming out of college with mortgage-sized gov’t loans and no job!..here is a man who has latched onto the American dream and work ethic of carving out his niche of the pie..if only we could present the real option of one’s starting a business to young people we would all be in a better place..is success guaranteed ?, of course not..but you learn from mistakes and errors and you refine your approach and plan of attack..you can only do this if you strike out on your own determined to make it..my sincere congrats to this gentleman..God bless..
I agree 100% Luis.
Good luck Slinger….
You did a very fine job!!!!!! It really looks very nice…
Love the Cart ………. Is it possible to get plans to build this Cart ? if so email me on the info Thanks. Mick
Yes, this cart is a modified version of my E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart, built from my video and plans package. You can get it here. We don’t show this exact build in the videos but once you watch them you will be able to build this cart or any other configuration that you want to.
Are you really ready to loose your marbles, or are you just burnt out?
Every business have been involved with has made e crazy until I understood
1.. Take time for your self regularly before you even realize you need time away.
2. Creative juices require a rested mind and body.
3. Do I want to look for $ 5 dollar bills or do I want to look for $100 dollar bills
4. When servicing your Mercedes hurts, you will think differently
